Professor Elvis Cornerstone is a distinguished Financial and Education Economist, currently serving as the President of both Accra Business School and the Institute of Economics and Finance. Prior to his current roles, he served as the Vice President of Accra Business School, where he spearheaded academic and administrative initiatives. His extensive academic career includes a tenure as a full-time Professor at Swiss UMEF University in Switzerland, where he also held positions as the Regional Director for Africa and the Director of Academic Affairs for the university’s campus in Afghanistan. Additionally, Professor Cornerstone was a full-time Lecturer at Bangor University of Wales in the United Kingdom, where he also earned his Master’s and PhD qualifications.

Throughout his academic journey, Professor Cornerstone has taught a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across Europe, Asia, and Africa. His teaching and leadership experience are complemented by a solid background in development financing, both locally and internationally.

Before entering academia, Professor Cornerstone held significant roles in various financial institutions, including the African Development Bank in Tunisia. At the Bank, he was instrumental in assessing and managing loan portfolio projects across multiple sectors and industries in countries such as Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, and Seychelles.

One of his notable achievements was leading the Kenya-Uganda Gas and Oil Pipeline Project, where he analyzed development and financial proposals for the transportation of gas and oil between the two countries. Additionally, he served as the Lead Consulting Officer for the evaluation and rating of Seychelles’ submarine cable project.
